23,000 square meters of roof surface should not be unused thought the Deutsche Bahn and had a photovoltaic system installed on top of their hall.
At the Frankfurt Railway Station, the roof of a hall of the Deutsche Bahn measures 23,000 square metres, which is nearly the equivalent of three football fields; however, it is well-suited to generate solar power.
Commissioned by juwi Solar GmbH, SAG installed on seven individual spaces a total of more than 14,300 so-called thin-film modules with a total capacity of 1.11 megawatts. The principal has initially replaced the roof membrane. Subsequently, the SAG installers took care of the sub-construction for the modules and shortly thereafter, the modules themselves were installed.
In addition, SAG's services included complete wiring at the low-voltage and medium-voltage level, the construction of inverter and medium-voltage stations as well as the project management.
